Common questions and connection troubleshooting

Find answers by where the issue occurs—from your account and subscription to route selection. Start with the basic checks, then decide whether to update the configuration or submit a ticket.

ACCOUNT

Account & subscriptions

Registration, device changes, and subscription refreshes all start in the user panel. Do not save configurations from unknown sources or share your subscription details with others.

Is an email address required to create an account?

No. 9KVPN does not require an email address; you can create an account with a username and password. Keep your login details safe and avoid reusing the same credentials on different websites. After registration, the user panel lets you view plans, orders, client downloads, and subscription details.

Do I need to buy another plan when switching devices?

No. 9KVPN supports unlimited simultaneous devices. The same account can be used on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. On a new device, sign in to the user panel and retrieve the 9KVPN client or current subscription details. There is no need to purchase a separate plan for a device change.

How do I update my subscription link?

Sign in to the user panel, open the subscription or client section, and copy the current subscription details for your account. Then use the client’s update subscription, refresh configuration, or re-import option. If an old configuration has not refreshed for a long time, delete it first and import the subscription again from the user panel so the client does not keep using its local cache.

What should I do if I forget my username or password?

Because registration does not require an email address, you are responsible for keeping your username and password safe. If you can still access a signed-in device, check your account details and update the password in the user panel. If all devices are signed out, use the user panel’s ticket page to provide your order and account details so support can help verify and handle the request.

CONNECTION

Connections & troubleshooting

Connection issues usually require separate checks of the client status, routing rules, local network, and target website. Change one condition at a time to pinpoint the problem more easily.

The client says it is connected, but webpages still will not open. What should I do?

Switch to another route for the target region, then fully close and reopen your browser. If only certain webpages fail, check whether the client is using Global Mode or Rule Mode, and make sure the browser is not still using an old network configuration. If the issue persists, restart the client and update the subscription configuration again.

Why is a particular app not using the accelerated route?

A common reason is that the client is in Rule Mode and the app’s connection does not match a rule that sends it through an accelerated route. Temporarily switch to Global Mode to test. If the app works there, the issue is likely in the routing rules. Update the subscription and rule configuration, or adjust the app’s routing method in the client.

Where should I start troubleshooting after changing networks?

Disconnect the current session, close and reopen the client, then test another route. Some network environments retain old resolution results, so restarting the browser or device may also help. If routes in several regions all fail, confirm that the subscription is still active, retrieve the configuration again from the user panel, and re-import it.

If only one website will not open, is the route faulty?

Not necessarily. A problem with one website may relate to its regional policies, browser cache, sign-in region, or current exit region. Try another route in the same region and test in a fresh browser session. If other websites and apps work normally, reinstalling the client is usually unnecessary; check the target website’s regional requirements first.

ROUTING

Speed & routes

Route selection is not just about distance. The target service’s region, route type, local network, and public-internet congestion all affect performance.

What can I do about buffering during peak hours?

Pause active downloads, syncing, and system updates, then choose a route in a region closer to the target service. If you are using a direct or relay route, try an IEPL route in the same region. Avoid switching routes repeatedly during playback. After switching, reopen the video so the app can establish a new connection and select a content delivery entry point again.

How should I choose between IEPL, relay, and direct routes?

IEPL routes are better suited to scenarios that require peak-hour stability and sustained transfers. Relay routes balance path efficiency and coverage. Direct routes use a simpler path, but performance is more sensitive to local networks and public-internet congestion. Choose the target region first, then compare route types within that region rather than judging by city name alone.

Does a farther route always mean slower speeds?

Physical distance affects the transmission path, but it is not the only factor. Route type, the local network, cross-border exit congestion, and the target service’s region can all change the actual experience. For content in Japan, start with a Japan route; for services in the United States, choose a US route. This is often more stable than always using the same distant route.

How can I tell whether the problem is my local network or the route?

First, open familiar local websites without connecting to an accelerated route to confirm that the basic network is working. Then compare routes from different regions and with different route types. If all routes fail at the same time, check the local network and client configuration first. If only one route fails, switch to another route in the same region and submit its name and usage scenario through a ticket.

BILLING

Billing & refunds

Monthly subscriptions suit ongoing use, while traffic packages work better for irregular usage. Before submitting an order, verify the billing period, traffic allowance, and payment method together.

What monthly subscription plans are available?

Monthly subscriptions include ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB. Traffic resets monthly on the activation date. Choose based on how much you browse, stream, and sync files. Do not compare only the monthly fee; check the included monthly traffic as well.

Do traffic packages expire?

Traffic packages remain available until used and never expire. Options include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They suit users with irregular usage who prefer to pay for what they consume. Monthly subscriptions reset traffic on the activation date and are better for ongoing use.

How is a mid-cycle monthly subscription upgrade calculated?

For a mid-cycle monthly upgrade, the price difference is converted based on the remaining days. Before upgrading, check the current plan, remaining status, and target plan in the user panel, then submit the change after confirming the details. This helps avoid duplicate purchases and makes it easier to decide whether to keep the current plan or move to a higher traffic tier.

How do I request a refund, and which payment methods are supported?

9KVPN offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund. To apply, sign in to the user panel, open the ticket page, and submit the relevant order details and refund request. Support will process it according to the refund terms. Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT are currently supported. Before paying, verify the plan name, amount, and payment method on the order page.
